From The Buzz:
"U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek, D-Miami, is expected tomorrow to become the first major candidate to jump into the race for Mel Martinez's Senate seat. Meek has called a news conference for tomorrow morning in Miami Gardens.
The 42-year-old former legislator and son of former U.S. Rep. Carrie Meek, should be a significant force in the campaign. He has a national and statewide profile and network, built leading the class size amendment, the sit-in at Jeb Bush's office, and leading John Kerry's Florida campaign in 2004."
Like this one a lot to be honest, I don't know if he can win. He's not really known statewide and his mother probably held a better chance at winning. I've called his office and have been told they are not disclosing the address to where he's announcing from. It's likely a reflection of his somewhat paranoic self, and doesn't want protestors. Fair enough, but not having an audience of supporters as well is kind of dumb.
As of right now it's Meek vs. Rubio which I'd bet is good for the Democrats.
Edit:
An in case you missed it Senator Roland Burris is the newest Senator and puts Democrats at 59. Blago got his way I suppose.
Edit 2:
