Yep, she did a great job there. With her daughter pregnant and now going to marry. It's this hypocrisy that has been infecting the Religious Right and their political leaders for ages now.

Bristol Palin, one of Alaska Gov. Palin's five children with her husband, Todd, is about five months pregnant and is going to keep the child and marry the father, the Palins said in a statement released by the campaign of Republican presidential candidate John McCain.Bristol Palin made the decision on her own to keep the baby, McCain aides said. 'We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us,' the Palins' statement said. 'Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support,' the Palins said."
*** UPDATE *** Here's a statement the McCain camp released from Todd and Sarah Palin, which is identical to the quote in the Reuters story: "We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us. We're proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support."
"Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family. We ask the media to respect our daughter and Levi's privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates."

When John McCain was born, the words "Under God" were not in the Pledge. They would not appear there until 1954, during McCain's senior year of high school.

Yes, there's definitely some hypocrisy here but you need to get a mirror to see it.
Put yourself in Sarah Palin's shoes. You strongly advocate abstinence to your children. One of your daughters chooses to not listen to you and gets pregnant. What do you then? If you're true to your (Palin's) convictions then you would encourage her to have the baby. And that's what she's doing and getting married to the father as well.
As for the hypocrisy I mentioned earlier, I trust you're aware that Barack Obama was born to an 18 year-old mother who was not married to the father at the time.
Final question: You seem to have no hesitation to delve into the sex life of Sarah Palin's daughter. Should we thus assume that you're advocating open attacks into Barack & Michele's two adorable daughters? Sure sounds like. That's pretty sick.
You dwell into the personal life of Sarah Palin's daughter and then say that you don't give a hoot about anyone's personal life. That's rich.

Yes Obama was born out of wedlock to an 18 year old adult mom who raised him with love. Obama's mother didn't go up on a podium passing laws advocating "family values" with strong Christian rhetoric. Push for Christian creationism to be in Public Schools in class next to Scientific Theory. Nor did she push for Pro-Life without any exceptions. Nor is she running for VP while a special needs child and her other 4 children need her. All this is dandy if she wants an office in a small town of Alaska, but she is not fit for CEO or Commander in Chief of one of the most powerful nations in the world. And who are we kidding, that poor 17 year old is now having a shot gun wedding.
We can all agree that while Juno shouldn't be held to shame nor should her baby be for the failures of planned parenting. Howver, pleeeze don't tell me if this where to happen to a Democratic nominee that the Religious Right hypocrates would harp on it with brimstone and fire. And don't tell me that McCain knew all about this prior. This is another example of how McCain doesn't get it.
pelausan: I dont recall Obamas mother advocating abstinence sex ed or NO legal abortions even in the case of RAPE. You are missing the point. This vice presedential candidate needs to live what she believes and advocates. Apparently she is a hypocrite.

And to you pelalusa Barack IS NOT advocating abstinence only sex ed and FORCING RAPE victims to endure pregnancy and birth. I suggest YOU look in the mirror and realize no one gets away with preaching one way and living another way. Clearly this vice presidential candidate has shown abstinence only sex ed is a FAILURE.
